TQI Program Has Delivered 240 Great Teachers

Until end of July 2011 TQI program has successfully conducted eight batches of trainings for 180 teachers of elementary schools and 60 teachers of secondary schools. In order to provide sustainable development in Indonesia, Titian Foundation – in partnership with ROTA-Vodafone and Ministry of National Education (MONE) focuses in education by providing training to improve teachers’ skills in attempt to deliver appropriate learning activities. We believe that teachers’ skills will contribute remarkably to the quality of education.

TQI Program aims to develop Indonesian elementary and secondary school teachers’ competencies in three areas of personality and social skills, and pedagogy. Outcome of the training is quality improvement of teachers’ ability and teaching skills to deliver active, innovative, communicative, and joyful learning. The project is designed to run for four years, commencing in August 2010 and to complete in August 2014. Overall program direct beneficiaries are 1,440 teachers of elementary and junior high schools from around 500 schools across Yogyakarta (DIY) and Klaten. This would mean that 360 teachers will be covered in the TQI program each year, which is divided into twelve batches
