As part of commitment to support quality education, Titian Foundation, in partnership with Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) and Qatar Petroleum as its funding partner, launched a program titled “ICT for Education – Improving Access & Quality”. The program is run with the support of the Ministry of Education, Yogyakarta Special Region and partners Intel Indonesia and Infest as service providers.
The launching ceremony was performed by Mr. Drs. Kadarmanto Baskoro Aji as Head of MoNE Yogyakarta on Wednesday, 20 November 2013. The launch, which took place in Aula Sasana Krida MoNE Yogyakarta, was followed by a national seminar on “Leadership in 21st Century Education and Learning in Response to Implementation of Curriculum 2013: Utilization of ICT for Improving Access and Quality of Education”.
Key speakers in a-one-day seminar delivered on various topics such as socialization of ICT for Education Programs, awareness on ICT uses for education, new government policies on education, e-learning and collaborative project-based learning, as well as best practice in integrating ICT in learning-teaching activities and school management.
The seminar was attended by around 100 participants comprising teachers, principals, MoNE, school supervisors, and community who are concerned about education in Indonesia. To illustrate the power of ICT, SD Sampangan – Bantul, one of the school participants, followed the program launch and seminar through live streaming from their school.
