Enchanting Woven Cloths in Kemnaker Event

A new phase for the weavers of Dusun Rebuk 1, the women who have been developing through skill improvement along with the full support of Titian Foundation and Soroptimist International of Jakarta. In early February, the weavers had the opportunity to take part in a talkshow held by the Ministry of Labour (Kemnaker) at the Pesona Pujut Mandalika event. This event was held in the framework of Gathering Partners to Expand Employment Opportunities, where the weavers of Rebuk I Hamlet were seen as a part of the community in Central Lombok who are able to create expanded job opportunities for their surroundings. On this occasion, the weavers had the opportunity to introduce their work to Indonesian Minister of Labour, Dr. Hj. Ida Fauziyah, M.Sc. Accompanied by the Founder/CEO of Titian Foundation, Ms. Lily Kasoem, the weavers explained how they produce woven cloths made with natural colored threads which are processed by their own hands.

At this event, Mrs. Aminah, one of the weavers of Rebuk 1 Hamlet, had the opportunity to explain the details of her weaving creations. Fluently and confidently, she was able to explain their products on stage. Aside from Mrs. Aminah, Mrs. Opi can fluently explain how to weave to any visitors who expects to know more about their weaving cloths as well. Their ability to produce Natural-Dyed Weaving Cloths is a significant leap for the development of the quality of the skills possessed by the weavers of Rebuk 1 Hamlet. Now, they also have new skills in production, communicating with consumers, and selling their fabrics for the right price. Things they have never imagined before: being able to fill the talk show stage, meeting and interacting with many people and participating in events filled with works made by their own hands.

This moment is surely big leap for weavers to see how much opportunity they can achieve in the future if they continue to keep their willingness to develop.
