This International Women’s Day, Titian Foundation celebrates the power of education in shaping the future of young women. Through their dreams of becoming doctors, teachers, and leaders, girls at Titian show resilience in pursuing education despite societal challenges. Meanwhile, boys at Titian share how their perspectives on gender equality have evolved, recognising women’s dedication, spirit and pursuit of their goals.
Titian Foundation celebrates the resilience and dreams of young women striving for a better future. Titian beneficiaries in Lombok shared their dreams such as Aulia (Gen 4) who wants to be recognised for her achievements beyond household roles, Nana (Gen 4) who pursues a career in healthcare to help others, and Cristin (Gen 5) who defies local traditions and marriage norms to inspire change for women. Education empowers them to stand tall, break barriers, and shape their own destinies.
Young men in Titian are also evolving their perceptions toward gender equality. Through their shared experiences in Titian, Febrian (Gen 4) recognises women as equally capable in skills and perspectives, Adrian (Gen 5) learned to see that women can stand as equals or even surpass men, and Reza (Gen 5) feels inspired by their dedication towards achieving their dreams. As boys at Titian witness women’s strength and perseverance, they grow to respect and support them more—whether as peers, sisters, or mothers.
