One of our scholarship students, Ni Nyoman Dea Anggreni, often called Dea, is a 10th grade student at SMAN 1 Tanjung. Dea resides in a hamlet named Kr. Bayan Tanjung, in North Lombok Regency. She is one of the 4th Generation of Titian Foundation Lombok students who successfully qualified as a participant in the 3rd batch of the Maritime Ambassador (Duta Maritim) school. She is the sole delegate from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who passed the various selection stages, and will represent NTB with pride at the event on August 11th, 2023, in Central Jakarta. The selection process for the Maritime Ambassador was directly conducted by Aspeksindo (Association of Coastal and Island Local Governments of Indonesia), which is committed to enhancing human resources focused on maritime development.
Dea will take part in various exciting activities during the Indonesian Maritime Ambassador 2023 event. These include the Campaign for Smoke-Free Marine Tourism, meeting with the Vice Governor of Jakarta Special Capital Region, as well as a visit to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI). Through this event, young people from across Indonesia, representing their respective regions, have the opportunity for strategic learning from experienced speakers such as the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, island regents, and mentors with broad insights. These youngsters including Dea, are expected to become maritime leaders, subsequently enhancing maritime literacy for the wider society.
Dea is an accomplished and determined Titian student who enthusiastically embraces learning new things and actively participates in enhancing her experiences. She engages in all activities within our Scholarship Programme, learns to be an MC, and strives to improve her literacy with us. Being a part of Titian’s activities is a vital aspect of her current development as a teenager. Titian is always proud and supportive of the paths our scholarship recipients pursue to grow and thrive.
